Overview

PawJournal ("the App") is a pet care tracking application that helps you manage your pets' health records, medications, vaccinations, vet visits, and weight history. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the App collects and how it is used.

Data Collection

PawJournal does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with the developer or any third party.

• No analytics - We use no analytics service. The AdMob SDK performs ad tracking as described under Third-Party Services.
• No network requests - The app connects to the internet only to load ads. The data it stores for you is not transmitted.
• No accounts - No sign-up or login is required.
• No advertising - This app is ad-supported and displays ads from Google AdMob (see Third-Party Services below).
• No cloud storage - All data stays on your device.

Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device using AsyncStorage:

• Pet profiles - Name, species, breed, birthday, color, weight, microchip ID, and notes you enter.
• Medication records - Medication names, dosages, frequencies, start/end dates, and active/inactive status.
• Vaccination records - Vaccine names, dates administered, next-due dates, veterinarian names, and batch numbers.
• Vet visit records - Visit dates, reasons, diagnoses, clinic names, costs, and notes.
• Weight history - Weight entries with dates and units (pounds or kilograms).
• App preferences - Theme mode, currency, weight unit, and haptic feedback settings.

This data is stored exclusively on your device and never leaves it unless you explicitly choose to export it using the in-app export feature.

Permissions

PawJournal does not request any special device permissions. It operates entirely within the app sandbox.

Third-Party Services

This app displays advertising supplied by Google AdMob. To serve ads, the AdMob SDK collects information from your device — typically your advertising identifier, device and app information, coarse location inferred from your IP address, and interactions with the ads shown. That data is handled by Google under its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy . We do not send your personal records to AdMob or to any advertiser — the data this app stores for you stays on your device. You can limit ad personalisation in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads). Apart from Google AdMob and Google Play Billing, no other third-party service, SDK or API is integrated.

In-app purchases. Any purchase inside the app (such as the upgrade that removes ads) is handled by Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment and keeps the record; the app only learns whether the purchase is active. We never see your payment details.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Note that the AdMob SDK collects device and advertising identifiers from all users, as described under Third-Party Services.

Data Deletion

All data is stored locally on your device. To delete all App data:

• Use the "Clear All Data" option in the App's Settings screen, or
• Clear the App data in your device's application settings, or
• Uninstall the App.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, the changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
